The fairy land and the magic of the stories were installed in Orhei city. People from all corners of the country gathered last night in Vasile Lupu Square to be present at one of the most awaited events of the winter holidays - the opening of the Christmas Fair.
The event was marked by a concert by the famous artist Anna Lesko, who gathered Orhei residents with her songs “Anicyka Maya”, “Aruncă-mă”, “Ia-mă”, “Ispita mea” and other popular songs loved by the public in Moldova. Young people who have grown up in the rhythms of her songs have singled out the songs together with the beautiful interpreter. The holiday atmosphere was created and traditional winter carols and songs were performed by local artistic collectives. The concert was also attended by the band “DULCE BAND”, supported by the production house “Jasmin”.
After they sang, they danced for as long as they held their feet, the guests rushed to the beautifully crafted stalls with thousands of shimmering lights and filled with various gifts, decorations and holiday products, sold at lower prices than on the market.
While some people rushed to buy all kinds of beautiful and original things exposed to the fair, others formed queues at the highest Christmas tree in the country to take pictures. On the territory of the fair, there were also two photo areas that were stormed by the children eager to be in the world of fairy tales. Moreover, among the crowd gathered at the fair there were also characters from stories that had fun for the little ones.
A relaxed and cheerful atmosphere was also at Santa Claus's Residence. The old man with a white beard did not have time to lie down. The children rushed to recite poems, sing songs, and reveal their desires. Those who were good during all the year received gifts from Santa.
Young people, children and even adults more energetic and eager for fun on the ice queued for the skating rink brought from Disneyland. This year, even children aged of 3 years were able to skate thanks to special slingers in the form of penguins and bears, which served as support for the children.
The winter story is just beginning in Orhei. Today and tomorrow a Handmade Gift Fair is organized at the fair. Decorations, brooches, toys, jewellery, accessories, congratulations, candles - all done with great diligence by the craftsmen of our country. It will take place between 12:00 and 22:00.
Moreover, because the winter holidays are an opportunity to offer to the saddest people a bit of happiness, still today and tomorrow there will take place a charity fair “Dăruiește un vis” (“Give a Dream”), organized by the Public Association “Suflet generos” (“Generous Soul”). In Vasile Lupu Square was installed a box of “good deeds”, where are sold clothes collected from famous people in our country, as well as clothing pieces created by local designers such as "O'Blanc", "Julia Allert", "Sekana", "Katea Gri" and others. From the collected money gifts will be bought and the holiday dreams of children in the socially vulnerable categories of society will be fulfilled.
Meanwhile, at the Christmas Fair, the holiday atmosphere is created by music ensembles from Orhei district and DJ. Today, 24th of December, at 19:00, on stage installed in Vasile Lupu Square, the band "Lumea" will hold a concert.
