The Mayor Ilan SHOR had a working meeting with the Mayor of Satul Mare municipality from Romania, Gabor Kereskenyi, who was on an official visit to Orhei. 

During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the implementation of investment projects in the infrastructure of water supply and sewerage services, advocating intensification of the bilateral cooperation between the two municipalities in the local public administration field.

At the same time, the Mayor Ilan SHOR communicated to his counterpart about the Orhei city development projects implemented over the past two years, mentioning that increased attention was paid to the infrastructure, social and cultural areas of the city.

In his turn, the Mayor of Satul Mare municipality from Romania, Gabor Kereskenyi decided to increase the cooperation between the two municipalities, welcoming positively the ambitious reforms made by Ilan SHOR for the development of Orhei city, reiterating all the openness for the exchange of experience in this respect.

Also, during the discussions, the officials also pleaded for capitalizing on the potential of cooperation between Orhei and Satul Mare municipalities in the commercial, economic, tourism and cultural sectors. Moreover, during the meeting, the decision was taken to twin the two municipalities, event which will take place in October this year.

We mention that Orhei municipality is still twinned with 7 other cities abroad, namely: Piatra Neamt municipality, Bicaz city, Focsani municipality, Dolina city Ivano-Frankovsk region, Smila city Cercask region, Komsomolsk city Poltava region, and Bergama city Izmir Province.
