The road portion to be upgraded is 400 meters long. Workers will lay asphalt in two layers and rehabilitate over 3,000 meters of roadside and curb sidewalks. About 190 tons of asphalt and 55 tons of gravel will be used for these works. The work is done by more than 150 workers.
Also, an aqueduct will be built in the area and also a sewerage system for the inhabitants around.
On a working visit, the Mayor of Orhei, Ilan Shor, said that this year, the authorities will focus on repairing the central arteries of the city, parallel to the adjacent streets.
” Repairing the main arteries in the city is important for the comfort of the residents as well as for the business environment. The better the infrastructure, the lower the transport costs and the lower the prices of the products bought by the citizens. This is a good investment in the economy. We plan to complete the reconstruction and repair of the most important roads in the city this year. Besides that, we will continue to modernize the courts, but also to start other important projects. As I said, I want Orhei inhabitants to walk on good and paved roads. We do not have time to talk, we work for the good of our city”, said Mayor Ilan Shor.
It is worth mentioning that with the arrival of the spring, Orhei started the repair works on Eliberarii, M. Costin, A. Sciusev and Dorobanti Street. For more than two weeks, workers have been working at an alert pace, in several shifts, to complete the works as soon as possible.
Similarly, after decades of waiting, hundreds of Orhei inhabitants will be connected to the water and sanitation network and will have a wastewater pumping station.
Infrastructure projects in Orhei started after Ilan Shor became mayor of the city. At the initiative of the mayor, the City Hall started for the first time for the entire country, the reconstruction of the streets with its own forces and resources. This allows local authorities to optimize spending and from saved money to perform other social projects.
