Nearly 20 special vehicles are involved in the cleaning of the streets. Of these, two Belarus tractors equipped with special technology, wash asphalt with shampoo. Authorities clean the dusty streets and refresh the air to provide the Orhei inhabitants with a higher level of comfort.
The works started at 5:00 in the morning with the sweeping and washing of Vasile Lupu Street, after which the workers moved to M. Eminescu, Stefan cel Mare, Chisinau Streets. Also, in the first half of the day, the roundabout from the entrance of the city was cleaned.
The mayor of Orhei, Ilan Shor, mentioned that sanitation is very important for the inhabitants of Orhei, because the Orhei inhabitants love the cleanliness.
” Every spring, we start the big cleaning in the city. I, like all Orhei inhabitants am very serious regarding cleanliness. For me, it is very important for Orhei to shine like a diamond. Orhei is also the cleanest city in Moldova and so will be in the future. Certainly, cleanliness also means ecology. For me it is important that the streets of Orhei are as clean as people’s houses. Orhei is my home, I love this city and every street and part of the road in town is like the floor of my house”, declared the mayor of Orhei, Ilan Shor.
During the day, the workers will sweep and wash Negruzzi, Livezilor, Orheiul Vechi, Renasterii Nationale, V. Mahu, 31 August, M. Gorkii and C. Stamati Streets.
Orhei is, in fact, the first and only city in Moldova to acquire special technology and wash the streets with special solutions based on shampoo and water.
It is worth mentioning that the Orhei authorities have carried out extensive works for landscaping the green spaces. The workers cleared about 20 hectares of courtyards and adjacent municipal roads and evacuated about 50 tons of branches and garbage. Also, the green spaces on the central streets V. Lupu and M. Eminescu were restored and repaired. More than 3000 flowers of the viola and primula species were planted and used, and more than 5000 tulips are already in bloom. For the landscaping, the authorities also bought 2000 coniferous plants and planting material, but also about 50 tons of red granite and more than 10 tons of white marble from Greece.
Also, on the previous days was finalized the landscaping of two newly renovated courtyards and of the recently inaugurated social house territory.
With the appointment of Ilan Shor as the mayor of Orhei, the city has undergone important transformations - tens of kilometers of streets have been repaired, green parks and areas have been landscaped, sports fields have been built and the streets of Orhei are fully illuminated.
