Thus, during this week, it is working at an alert pace to finish Constantin Stamati Street, an artery that leads to Orhei Lake and which currently has no integer asphalt layer. It is being repaired for the first time in the last quarter of a century.
Repair works include leveling with a motor grader and gravel coverage. After these procedures, a layer of up to 10 cm of bituminous asphalt is covered.
At the same time, besides the modernization of the road, pedestrian sidewalks are also arranged, the curbs are changed (about 380 m) and the coverage with pavement.
High-quality materials are used to rehabilitate and modernization of the roads.
Also, at the direction of Ilan Shor, it will soon be procured its own asphalt and pavement plant, which will lead to a reduction of expenses, to the creation of new jobs, but will also allow the city to be built with pavement of own production.
Thus, Orhei becomes the only city in the country that not only modernizes and implements major infrastructure projects but also uses its own human, technical and financial resources.
It is important to note that the extensive road modernization works do not stop here. Thus, starting next week in total repair will enter several other streets. According to the action plan promoted by the Mayor of Orhei in 2017, the streets Vasile Mahu, Gheorghe Asachi, Ciprian Porumbescu, Chisinau, Renasterii Nationale, Maxim Gorki, Alexandru cel Bun, Sportivilor, Junimii will be upgraded and rehabilitated. At the same time, the streets of Doina and Ion Aldea Teodorovici, Parfionov, the street leading to the Jewish Cemetery (the cemetery will also be arranged), the streets of Constantin Brancusi, Dimo Street, the road to Ivanos Park will be subjected to the rehabilitation works.
Several dozens of professional workers and technical units are trained to carry out the work in term.
We remind that in the last two years, with the arrival of Ilan Şor, Orhei, about 30 kilometers of road and six kilometers of sidewalks were rebuilt, and in some parts of the city where the streets were virtually non-existent, they were paved for the first time. The modernization and rehabilitation of the roads in Orhei municipality represent a basic priority for the Mayor Ilan Shor and his team, objectives presented on March 1 by the "For Orhei" faction. The development of Orhei's infrastructure and raising the standard of living are also found in the electoral program presented by Mayor Ilan Shor in 2015, which he has successfully implemented so far.
