At the inauguration event, held yesterday, August 16, participated the representatives of the City Hall, the members of the Orhei Fraction, the Commissar of Orhei municipality, Vasile Adasan and, of course, the city's inhabitants.
Thus, six arteries with a length of more than 1500 meters, which were in deplorable condition and have not been repaired for decades, were put into operation. These are the streets, which intersect with the central street Vasile Lupu, namely Junimii, Maxim Gorki, Sportivilor, Nicolae Stamati, Alexandru cel Bun and Maxim Gorki Road.
The reconstruction and modernization works included the propulsion and excavation of the surfaces as well as the gravel coverage. Subsequently, the workers covered the roads with a layer of up to 10 cm of bituminous asphalt. At the same time, besides the modernization of the road, the curbs were changed, and the access roads to the courtyards of inhabitants were paved.
According to the Mayor Ilan SHOR, this project represents a real success, so that all the roads in Orhei will be modernized and rehabilitated with own forces, involving the enterprise managed by the City Hall.
"Orhei is the only city in the country that not only modernizes and implements major infrastructure projects but also uses its own human and technical resources. We will also purchase a plant of asphalt and pavement production as soon as possible, which will result in lower spending and job creation. For us it is important that the Orhei people have jobs here at home. Overall, this will allow us to rebuild and modernize all roads in Orhei in a few years” mentioned the Mayor.
Upon rehabilitation and modernization of roads, high quality materials were used, over 2000 meters of curb and about 2000 tons of asphalt, and more than 20 workers worked in alert mode, simultaneously on several streets.
According to the action plan promoted by the Mayor of Orhei in 2017, the works for the modernization and rehabilitation of the roads continue and will be extended on the streets Vasile Mahu, Gheorghe Asachi, Ciprian Porumbescu, Chisinau, Renasterii Nationale, Doina and Ion Aldea Teodorovici, Parfionov, the street which leads to the Jewish Cemetery (the cemetery will also be arranged), the streets of Constantin Brancusi, Dimo Street and the road to Ivanos Park.
At the same time, the main artery of Orhei, Vasile Lupu Street, will enter into the major repair and modernization.
We remind that in the last two years, with the arrival of Ilan Shor at the management of Orhei city, about 30 kilometers of road and six kilometers of sidewalks were rebuilt, and in some parts of the city where the streets were virtually non-existent, they were paved for the first time.
The modernization and rehabilitation of the roads in Orhei municipality is a basic priority for the Mayor Ilan Shor and his team, which are also found in the electoral program presented by the Mayor Ilan Shor in 2015, which he has successfully implemented so far.
