Today, September 1, in the schools and lyceums from Orhei, and throughout the country, took place the first ring of the school year. Beautifully dressed and very happy, thousands of students attended the festive events dedicated to the first day of school. On this occasion, the Mayor of Orhei conveyed a congratulatory message to all students.
“Dear children!
Dear pupils and students!
Today is a special day in your life. Today is the Knowledge Day, the beginning of the school year. Someone is going through this exciting day for the first time, for someone, the first ring of the school year will be sounded for the last time, someone has many years of study ahead. But for all, without exception, this is a holiday. Perhaps, one of the main holidays of our country. And that's why I think so. Moldova does not have minerals, which for many countries of the world are the basis of welfare, there is no large industry. All that we have are talented, resourceful, enterprising, hardworking people. It is thanks to them that Moldova remains as an independent state. But a breakthrough to prosperity will be provided by people well and comprehensively educated.
The future of Moldova - for the knowledge of economy! I am firmly convinced of this. Therefore I wish you, dear children, success in your studies. Remember, it depends not only on your personal future, but also on the future of the country in which we live and which we sincerely love. I would like to especially appeal to the students of Orhei. You are well aware that the City Hall and I personally award the best of you at the end of the school year. You have a serious incentive to work, diligently and purposefully master the knowledge. I sincerely want you to learn one simple truth from childhood: between a firm knowledge and success in life there is a direct and inextricable link.
Once again I would like to congratulate you with the 1st September! The Day of Knowledge!” pointed the Mayor.
We remind that the special prizes for the best pupils are awarded by the Mayor Ilan SHOR to the 9th grade graduates in the amount of two thousand lei and to the 12th grade graduates - five thousand lei.
This initiative of the mayor is implemented in municipality of Orhei starting with 2015, in the municipality are 7 educational institutions with about 4000 pupils.
